Coffee History
and Fact

The existence of coffee in Indonesia began in 1696. When the Dutch Governor of Malabar, India, sent Yemeni/Arabica coffee seedings to be planted in the island of java. Presently, coffee in Indonesia has developed exponentially with many varieties and clones and can be planted specifically on any soil condition and topography in Indonesia.
An industry study for sustainable coffee program conducted by Techno Serve concludes that Indonesia is the world second largest exporter of Robusta coffee. The study also states that 7% of Indonesia’s coffee export volume has been certified of verified as sustainable.

Profile Flavor

Indonesian coffees have traces of a woody, thick texture, low acidity, and flavors that range from ground, eru or cypress, and spices to fermented fruits, chocolate, herbs, tanned skin and tobacco.

The aroma of spices that are born naturally makes this type of coffee enjoyed because it has delicate and fresh characteristics

Arabica
Green Coffee Bean

  • Climate: Arabica Coffee is ideally grown with an altitude between 1000-2000 m asl and a required rainfall of 1250 – 2000 mm per year.
  • Physical characteristic: Arabica coffee can be physically identified from the form of its plants and its small-sized fruit. Arabica coffee is low in caffeine and poses a fragrant aroma compared to the other two types of coffee. the leaves are smooth and the wave and bone of the leaves are not clearly visible. Arabica coffee is mostly located on plateaus.
  • Taste: Arabica has a nuttier, fruity flavour.
  • Caffeine: Contains 1.5% caffeine.

Robusta
Green Coffee Bean

  • Climate: Robusta Coffee is the most type of coffee sold in the local market. Robusta has many types of clones and varieties and grows well at an altitude between 100-800 m asl, Robusta requires: 1-3 months of the dry season or <60 mm rainfall intensity to stimulate flowering and ensure the flowers do not fall out from the branches before becoming a proper and healthy coffee.
  • Physical characteristic: Robusta coffee can be identified by its flexible stem that extends downwards, large wavy leaves. leaf veins/bone that is clearly visible.
  • Taste: Robusta coffee beans have an earthy and bitter taste, being a lot harsher due to the roasting effects on the coffee bean. Robusta also has an increase in caffeine, which makes it excellent for espresso coffee blends.
  • Caffeine: Contains 2.7% caffeine

We source and process most of our Robusta Green Coffee Beans from the Java Island, and  our Arabica Green Coffee Beans from Java and Sumatra Island.

We process all the different qualities available including all grades of Arabica Green Coffee Bean and Robusta Green Coffee Bean, where each quality is used for different purposes. We utilize sun drying to thoroughly dry our Coffee Beans. Our dedicated staff our highly trained in sorting Coffee Beans to ensure consistent product quality as per our customers’ requirements.
